February 15, 2016
The German government does not believe that a new Cold War has started between the West and Russia, spokesman Steffen Seibert said Monday. “No, the [German] government does not share this assessment, history doesn’t repeat [itself],” Sputnik quoted Seibert as saying. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday that NATO’s stance toward Russia indicated a slide toward Cold War-level relations. On Monday, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said she did not notice any sign of a Сold War between Russia and the West.
