Canada Defence Minister concludes meetings at NATO and Riga Conference

During a three-day visit to Belgium and Latvia, Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan advanced Canada’s role as one of four NATO Framework Nations; each a key part of NATO’s strengthened deterrence and defence posture in Eastern and Central Europe.
While at the NATO Defence Ministers Meeting in Brussels, Belgium, Minister Sajjan participated in several North Atlantic Council meetings and met with representatives from Albania, Latvia, Romania and France. He attended a UK-led discussion on cooperation in Ukraine along with the United States, Poland and Lithuania. Sajjan attended the Riga Conference in Latvia, which focused on NATO’s role in the current security environment. Additionally, he met with Estonian Defence Minister Hannes Hanso and visited the Adazi military base where Canadian personnel will be deployed in 2017.

Eurosatory – the international land and airland Defence and Security exhibition, takes place every two years in order to gather the whole offer and demand of the domains. DSA is the most important defense and security exhibition in the Asian Region.
