Canadian HMCS Fredericton frigate returns to the Mediterranean as part of NATO op

Canada will deploy its HMCS Fredericton frigate to the Mediterranean as part of NATO’s Operation Reassurance, the Royal Canadian Navy said. The vessel will leave from the port of Halifax on Tuesday, it added. According to the navy, the move is aimed at promoting security and stability in central and eastern Europe. HMCS Fredericton returns to the Mediterranean after a half year break, replacing the HMCS Winnipeg frigate.
