European Commission & US in transatlantic data transfer pact

The European Commission said on Tuesday it had struck a deal with the US on a new transatlantic data transfer pact. It will prevent EU regulators from restricting data transfers by firms, Reuters reported. “We have a deal” spokesman of European Commission, Christian Wigand said on Twitter. Earlier on Tuesday, sources said the two sides were close to an agreement.
