Hungary may declare state of crisis over migrants – official
September 10, 2015
Hungary’s Interior Ministry has proposed the declaration of a “state of crisis due to mass migration” as of September 15, Prime Minister Viktor Orban‘s chief of staff said on Thursday. The decision could be based on bills passed last week, Reuters quoted Janos Lazar as saying. The proposal will be the first item to be discussed at a government meeting on September 15. More than 160,000 asylum seekers from the Middle East, Asia and Africa have entered Hungary from the south this year, heading towards other EU states, mainly Germany.
