Kim Jong-un open for talks with South Korea
January 1, 2015
In his New Year’s address, the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said he is open for talks with President Park Geun-hye “if South Korean authorities sincerely want to improve relations” between North and South. “If the atmosphere and environment is there, there is no reason not to hold a high-level summit,” Kim said in his address cited by Reuters. South Korea proposed on Monday to resume stalled talks that would cover co-operation projects and reunions for families separated by the 1950-1953 Korean War.
