Russian special services killed more than 40 leaders of terrorist groups in 2015, Evgeny Ilyin, first deputy head of staff at the National Anti-Terror Committee (NAC), said on Friday. They include 20 leaders swearing their allegiance to Islamic State, RIA Novosti quoted the official as saying. More than 100 Russian citizens were prevented during that period from traveling to Syria and Iraq to fight on the terrorists’ side.
