US approves additional Combat Caravans for Iraq

The US State Department has approved the sale of a further two Cessna AC-208B Combat Caravan aircraft to add to the three previously delivered, announced the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The $65.3 million sale will comprise the two aircraft, plus associated equipment, training, and support. Specific equipment will include a dual-launcher for the AGM-114 Hellfire II air-to-surface missile under the wing of each aircraft; AN/ALE-47 electronic countermeasure dispensers; AN/AAR-60 missile launch warning systems; and AN/AAQ-35 electro-optic/infrared systems.
