US urges citizens not to travel to Lebanon
December 12, 2015
The US has urged citizens not to travel to Lebanon, citing “ongoing safety and security concerns.” The State Department advised on Friday that American citizens should “understand that they accept the risks of remaining in the country and should carefully consider those risks.” It alluded to “sudden outbreaks of violence” that could occur in major cities. It also urged people not to rely on the Lebanese government for security. The country is currently being plagued by Syria-on-Israel hostilities, as well as anti-Western violence perpetrated by terrorist groups.
